How It Started
Hi, I’m Matthew Gomes, owner and licensed general contractor of Gomes Construction. As a second-generation builder in Wake County, construction has been part of my life for as long as I can remember. I began apprenticing under my father at a young age—hauling materials, building French drains, and learning the fundamentals of the trade from the ground up.

In 2017, after saving diligently and passing my contractor’s exam, I purchased the most affordable lot available in Wake Forest. By 2018, I completed my first home—a charming Cape Cod—and that project launched my journey into building homes professionally, learning from experienced builders, and taking on new challenges.
Over the following years, I continued building single-family homes at a steady pace, always guided by the Gomes Construction vision: creating efficient, high-quality homes using a blend of modern building techniques and time-tested practices.
Our First Build
How It's Going
Today, our company continues to grow. In addition to building homes, we now provide professional framing carpentry services for other builders and are expanding into trim carpentry, plumbing, and more. Our goal remains simple—deliver reliable craftsmanship, build strong relationships, and keep raising the standard in everything we do.
